Discover The Benefits of Green Tea

Welcome back! Today i will share with you one of my best secrets.
I have lately converted from a coffee lover to being passionate about green tea and for a few good reasons. The Chinese have known about the health benefits of green tea for thousands of years and even used it medicinally. Now the rest of the world are slowly catching on and the humble tea leaf is starting to appear in everything from ice cream to moisturisers. And if you are really not a huge fan of the taste, simply add some peppermint leaves and enjoy!
Why it’s so good
Studies have shown that the polyphenols (natural chemicals) found in green tea can help ease lifestyle diseases such as obesity and may prevent and reduce the severity of rheumatoid arthritis. Green tea is also good news for the skin. The tea is a valuable source of antioxidants, the good guys that fight the damaging free radicals attacking your skin when it’s exposed to environmental damage via sunlight and pollution. Studies suggest green tea can even prevent skin cancer.
In Summary, some of green tea’s health benefits include:
  • Anti Aging properties due to being so rich in antioxidants,
  • Stimulating effects due to the caffeine and tannings present in it,
  • Green tea boosts your immune system because the Catechins present in green tea fight bacterial and viruses
  • Helps Weight Loss: Green tea helps weight loss by speeding metabolism stimulating faster consumption of fat storage in the body.
  • It is de-intoxicating: Green tea is the best cure for hangovers and lack of sleep. A big glass of green tea with lemon is a popular remedy to cut the effects of alcohol instantly.
  • Astringency: Green tea triggers contraction in muscles and tissues and helps tone up muscles and skin. Furthermore, it enhances stamina and endurance.
  • Anti Carcinogenic Properties: Catechins in green tea fight free radicals and prevent formation of carcinogens like nitrosamines, reducing the chances of cancer.
  • Anti Diabetic: Green Tea’s alkaline nature helps reduce blood glucose level. Green tea’s anti oxidizing and astringent properties help pancreas and aid in better secretion of insulin.
Where you can get it
So how do you incorporate this wonder ingredient into your daily routine? You can find a lot of green tea brands at Super Markets although Green Tea bought from a health store is more likely to be of better quality. Start by replacing your morning coffee with green tea instead. The chemicals in green tea will keep your more alert for longer than caffeine. There are also lots of cold green tea drinks on the market – some are also flavoured with lemon to mask the “tea” taste.
Green Tea for your skin
How about trying a moisturiser for one with green tea in it?. There are lots on the market now – especially night creams which often also contain calming ingredients such as chamomile. Body creams with green tea are also starting to gain popularity but remember, as with any body cream, the secret to seeing results is to use the product regularly for a period of 4-6 weeks. Body creams with green tea will leave skin rejuvenated and more even-toned.
