General Questions

Are your massage therapists accredited?

All of our massage therapists are accredited and have ATMS provider number. Our director's ATMS providers number is 22435. Please note not all therapists are registered with all health funds so please ask at the time you make your booking.

 

What are your operating hours?

Our mobile service operates 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm. Reception hours are 9am to 6pm

What type of services do you provide?

We provide most types of therapeutic and relaxation massage, energy healing treatments, a wide range of beauty treatments, manicures and pedicures. Feel free to browse our treatments pages to discover what we have to offer.

Do you offer treatment packages?

Absolutely! We have designed a range of packages consisting of our most popular treatments. Those packages are in fact very popular as they represent great value for money, allowing you to receive maximum benefits from combining therapeutic or relaxing treatments in one session. You can find more information about our packages in the packages page of our website.

Do you cater for groups of people?

Of course we do! Group bookings are our speciality and we have designed a number of value packages especially for a larger number of guests. Please visit our Pamper Parties pages to find out more about your options and how you can organise a great pamper party that everyone will remember.  

Can you organise for more than one therapist?

Surely! Sydney Mobile Therapies will provide you with as many therapists as you need based on our availabilities. We encourage you to get in contact with us in advance to avoid disappointments. You just have to make sure you are ready for an unforgettable day!

Do you offer Gift Certificates?

Indeed! All of our treatments and packages are available to be purchased online as gift certificates for your loved ones. If you can't decide which is the best treatment, you can purchase a gift certificate of a monetary value. Our monetary gift certificates can be used multiple times until the funds run out. Please visit our treatments or packages area to see your options.

Do you accept male clients?

We provide mobile therapeutic services and the safety and well being of our therapists is important to us. A misbehaving male client is a therapist's biggest nightmare. Therefore, we generally accept bookings for couples and female clients. Bookings for male clients will be done by one of our male therapists. It is possible for a male client to book for a female therapist if we know you or if you have been referred to us by an existing client or one of our therapists.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

Generally no. At Sydney Mobile Therapies we have made a great effort to ensure our treatments and our fully qualified therapists are of the highest possible standards. Our aim is to offer a fantastic service and maximum therapeutic benefits to our clients and we guarantee just that. After all it is a great experience you are looking for and not a refund, right?

If however you believe you are entitled to a refund because of reasons out of the ordinary, please feel free to send us your feedback and we will be happy to listen.

Booking Your Treatment

Before you make your booking it is a good idea to go through our menu offerings, read our frequently asked questions and decide on the type and duration of your treatment. You can then make a booking by calling us on 1300 667 964 or email us your request. Alternatively, you can book online and have immediate confirmation. Please note that all bookings need to be confirmed by full payment.

How Do I Book For a Treatment?

There are several ways to make a booking with us. The best and easiest way is to use our live booking system. Alternatively, you can call us on 1300 967 664 or email us your request.

What is live booking?

Sydney Mobile Therapies is introducing Australia's first truly live booking system that allows you to make bookings with us just like you would book for tickets, accommodation and more. Our software engineers have built this system with your convenience in mind. You can view if your area is currently serviced, what treatments are available, who will provide the treatment and most importantly you can view our booking schedule live, giving you total freedom and control over your booking without wasting time emailing back and forth with your therapist.

How do I make a live booking? I am not so confident with technology

Our live booking system has been designed for everyone. If you can turn on your TV and use a microwave then you are officially qualified to use our live booking system!

All you have to do is create a free members account and follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Visit our live bookings area

Step 2: Select your location from the first drop down selection box

Step 3: Select a type of treatment such as body treatments, beauty treatments etc...

Step 4: Select the treatment of your choice

Step 5: Select a therapist from the drop down selection box (You will only see therapists servicing your area)

Step 6: Select the number of people who wish to receive a treatment on that day

Step 7: Confirm your booking

Step 8: Pay online once you are redirected to paypal (A paypal account is not required to make a payment)

That's it, done! Now wasn't that easy!

So is that all this booking system can do? 

Of course not! Our live booking system will send you email confirmations of your bookings or remind you by text message that your therapist is on his/her way (if you select to be reminded by sms). It allows you to view your booking history, pay online, schedule and cancel appointments, buy and redeem gift certificates, place yourself on a waiting list and more. Our live booking system is your complete personal assistant designed just for you!

Can I cancel a booking?

We understand that life can be unpredictable. If you have difficulty attending your treatment you need to get in contact with us at least 12 hours prior to your scheduled appointment for a full refund in a form of a Gift Certificate. Failure to notify us within 12 hours will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Failure to notify us within 3 hours of your scheduled appointment and no shows will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Please note that bookings need to be confirmed by a full payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Paypal.

***Fraudulent or unauthorised bookings will be reported to the authorities***

How Do I Cancel My Booking?

The fastest and easiest way to cancel an appointment is to visit our website, login to your account and select "cancel my appointment" under your user options. This option will redirect you to your personalised booking area where you can view and cancel your appointment. Please note fees apply for late cancellations.

I can't find an available therapist on my preferred day and time.

No problem, we've got you covered! If you can't find any of our therapists in your area to be available on your desired day and time, you have the following options:

  • Join our waiting list and select the day and time you wish to book. We will notify you immediately if a therapist becomes available.
  • Email us using our contact us form and we will try our best to find an available therapist to see you.

Fees and Charges

Is there a travelling fee?

We come to you at your home or accommodation free of charge within the areas that we service. If we do not currently service your preferred area you may still request a treatment which may incur a travelling fee. Please contact us form for an obligation free quote. You can check the live booking options to view services that are available in each area listed.

Do you charge any other fees?

In areas with limited parking our therapists will do their best to find street parking. If there is no street parking available they may have to use a parking station. Parking costs will be added to the treatment and you will be asked to pay for the parking fee prior to commencement of your treatment.

About Your Treatment

What should I expect during my first treatment visit?

If you are a first time client your therapist will require you to fill out a consultation form. Your therapist will discuss your main concerns that you wish to address during the treatment and determine if the selected treatment is appropriate for you.

What happens during a mobile treatment?

While you are filling out the form your therapist will be setting up the equipment for your treatment. Your therapist will then provide you with a clean towel and leave the room to wash his/her hands while you undress to your level of comfort and lie on the massage table as directed.

The therapist will return to the room when you are ready. Now it is time to enjoy and relax! Soft music will be played unless you request silence during the treatment.

When the treatment is over the therapist will leave the room to allow you to get dressed in private.
During the treatment please don't hesitate to ask your therapist questions about anything which you're unsure of or any concerns you may have.

What do I do during the treatment?

It is important to make yourself comfortable. When the therapist needs to adjust your position, she or he will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. You can change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. While many people close their eyes and relax during a session, others prefer to talk. It is your massage and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax.

What should I wear?

You can wear what you normally would. You will have the privacy of the room or your own home to change in. Lower undergarments, a sport top and shorts may be worn - whatever you're most comfortable with. If you need to undress for a treatment, the therapist will leave the room and will return when you are draped, but you should have your underwear on during the treatment. It is also good for jewellery to be removed.

Will I be covered during the treatment?

Yes, at all times we use towel draping and respect your privacy during your massage. The therapist will only uncover that part of your body that they are working on at that time. We consult with you prior to the treatment as to which usual parts of your body you give consent to be massaged.

If the pressure is too hard or too soft during the treatment, can I let the therapist know?

Yes! The therapist will check with you during the massage that the pressure is firm enough for you. However if at any stage you would like the pressure changed or are uncomfortable for any reason, please let us know as well can always change things to make you happy.

I am enjoying the treatment so much, I wish to extend!

Requests for treatment extensions are very common, especially for most of our shorter treatments. If you wish to make an extension, you need to ask our therapist if he/she has another scheduled appointment immediately after your session. In most cases the extension has to be confirmed with us.

  • If our therapist is unsure whether or not someone made a booking in the meantime, we need to be contacted prior to the extension to ensure our schedule will not be affected. If our therapist has another booking, then unfortunately we will not be able to service your request.
  • If our therapist has a free time slot then you are more than welcome to extend. As a general rule, we encourage our clients to book for the longest treatment they can afford because we know how much you will love it!

How will I feel after the treatment?

Most people feel calm and relaxed after a treatment. Occasionally, people experience mild temporary aching for a day if they had a remedial or deep tissue massage.

How Does Massage Work?

Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues.

It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.

Why Do People Get Massage?

People get massage therapy for relaxation or for a variety of health conditions:

  • Back pain
  • Inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and tendinitis
  • Stress relief and stress-related conditions
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Muscle and related conditions such as spasms, strains and sprains
  • Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Circulatory and respiratory problems
  • Post-injury and post surgical rehabilitation
  • Massage therapy relieves stress by lowering levels of hormones such as cortisol.
  • Massage therapy also appears to enhance immune function.

Will the massage oils used make me break-out?

We use natural, hypoallergenic and non acnegenic massage oils and lotions. However, if you have sensitivity to certain types of oils or lotions please bring it to the massage therapist's attention for an alternative product to be used.

Is a massage always appropriate?

Massage therapy is not recommended for people with infectious skin disease, rash, or open wounds, immediately after surgery, immediately after chemotherapy or radiation unless recommended by your doctor.

Massage should not be done directly over bruises, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, tumours, abdominal hernia, or areas of recent fractures.

Other known contraindications to massage include deep vein thrombosis, bleeding disorders or taking blood thinners such as Warfarin, damaged blood vessels, weakened bones from cancer, osteoporosis, or fractures, and fever.
